North Pacific
Species caught:
Pollack, Cod, Halibut

In 1969, Hansung Enterprise ventured into the North Pacific, targeting the most popular fish among Koreans, the cod. Our cod trawlers operate year-round in the Russian Economic Exclusive Zone (EEZ), the Sea of Okhotsk, and the Bering Sea, contributing to the improvement of the nation’s dietary habits through continuous technological development and extensive experience in cod fishing.

Beiyang Trawlers [Joonsung]

South Pacific
Species caught: 
Bigeye Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna

The tuna purse seiners fleet operates across various maritime zones, targeting premium tuna species, known as “Maguro” in Japan. After catching these tuna species through fishing, they are maintained in ultra-low temperatures (below - 50°C) to preserve freshness from sea to table. Most of the catch is exported to Japan. South Korea has approximately 180 vessels engaged in this operation, with Hansung Enterprise owing 5 of them. The main catch includes tuna species such as bigeye and yellowfin tuna, as well as swordfish varieties such as blue swordfish, black swordfish, and yellow swordfish. Each vessel catch around 400 tons annually.

Argentina
Species caught:
Squid

There are three fishing boats in Argentine waters, and the main fish species is squid. It is a ship that uses a pick-up lamp to collect dispersed fish using the characteristics of squid, and is equipped with an automatic check-in clock to automatically catch squid caught in fishing. Squid ears, legs, and torso may be processed and exported to Japan, Spain, Italy, or Round (original) may be produced and sold to Korea and Argentina.

Fleet Composition : 3 Squid Jiggers equipped with automatic catchers

Fishery Zone : Argentina

Fishery Method : These Jiggers use a fish-luring light which attracts fish to the vessel which allows a faster and more productive catch.

Export Squid Jiggers are producing Vaina(Tube), Tentacles for Japanese and European markets and Whole Round Squid for our domestic market.
